About me

I am a Professional Supervisor based in Hampshire. I gained my Diploma in Supervision for Sign Language Interpreters and Allied Professionals in 2022. I offer Professional Supervision to interpreters and to anyone who works in a ‘people-facing’ profession. I offer an initial consultation free of charge to discuss what you would like to gain from supervision and how we can best work together.

Supervision is an opportunity for practitioners to dedicate time to focus on their professional well-being, reflecting on their professional practice in a safe and confidential space that has no judgement, where dilemmas can be worked through, and the emotions that professional practice can create are given the time to process.

I am a proud heritage BSL signer, born into the Deaf community, a wife and mother of two children.

Since 2005 I have practised as a BSL/English interpreter beginning my career in London, within the Media and creative industries, then expanding into professional domains such as finance and politics. I have a first-class degree in Deaf studies and Interpreting and a level 6 in BSL interpreting. After 5 years of working in London, I moved to Surrey and expanded into social care, working alongside many Deaf professionals in this domain, particularly Deaf advocates. This sparked my interest in Mental health and I attended training to develop my skills in this and legal domains such as police and court interpreting.

Alongside my interpreting profession, I am also a RAF air cadet officer since commissioning in 2008, I have led various training teams over the years and commanded a squadron, this role is particularly what sparked my interest in supervision as managing various teams of volunteers allowed me to develop my skills in listening and supporting my team, in that time I passed my level CVQO 5 in leadership and management training(ILM) and became a mentor. In 2022 I embarked on my supervision journey completing the 360-supervision diploma in 2023.

I am now based in Hampshire, working in various domains face to face, but also as a video remote interpreter. I also participate in various volunteer roles locally, PTFA Chair and helper at my local Rainbow’s unit.
